BASIC HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS (cont)
Animals from different vendors should also be separated from each other to reduce the possibility of disease transmission.
After fish are released from quarantine they should be observed at least daily. They should have individual health records or tank records in which any health problems, postoperative care observations, medications and experimental procedures are recorded.
When survival surgery is performed on fish it must be performed as aseptically as possible. Anesthesia, analgesia and surgical monitoring records should be kept.
