Goats should be provided a clean source of water, ad libitum, unless specified to meet the scientific objectives of an approved animal use protocol. Automatic watering devices are better than buckets since buckets are easily turned over or soiled with urine or feces. Goats will often refuse to drink water that is not clean. Placing of hay or other treats in the waterer may aid new arrivals in finding the waterer.
