Responsibilities of the IACUC
The overall responsibility of the IACUC is to ensure the humane care and use of research animals while permitting investigators to pursue their scientific goals of research. IACUCs must meet twice a year, but most larger institutions usually meet monthly.
The IACUC follows guidelines and regulations of various agencies and federal offices for compliance as well as institutional policies.
