ANIMAL HEALTH AND HANDLING PROCEDURES

Handling and restraint techniques that minimize stress and discomfort to animals should be used to reduce hazards associated with bites, scratches and kicking. New techniques should always be learned from an experienced handler and practiced under supervision - both for the benefit of the animal and the handler.

You should consult with the animal care staff of your institution for proper techniques and available equipment for humanely handling and restraining lab animals.
