NUTRITION
New World and Old World primates are omnivorous and need a balanced diet. Requirements have long been defined for the Rhesus monkey since it has been a valuable model in nutritional studies. Balanced commercial diets are now available for all primates used in research.
Primate feed should be used within three months of the milling date unless it uses stabilized vitamin C in the manufacturing process to extend the shelf life.
Feed should be stored in a separate, cool, dry and vermin-free room. Storing at or below 55 degrees F ( 13 degrees C ) is preferable. Rotate the feed so that the oldest feed is fed first.
