ENVIRONMENT (cont)

The Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (the “Guide”) recommends a relative humidity of 30% - 70% and dry bulb temperature of 61 – 72 degrees F (16 -22 degrees C) for rabbits.  However, rabbits thrive at 62 – 66 degrees F. and the incidence of gastric hair balls is reduced at these lower temperatures.
