Information Services There are many excellent resources available for searching databases for alternative procedures. Some of these include;
1. The Animal Welfare Information Center (AWIC) - an information service of the National Agricultural Library specifically established to provide information about alternatives. AWIC offers expertise in formulation of the search strategy and selection of key words and databases.
2. Altweb, the Alternatives to Animal Testing Website, is maintained by the John Hopkins Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing (CAAT)
3. ALTBIB is a bibliography on Alternatives to the Use of Live Vertebrate Animals in Biomedical Research and Testing provided through the National Library of Medicine.
