HOUSING AND SOCIAL NEEDS (cont)

Swine are social animals and require visual and tactile contact with other animals. They should at least be able to see another animal and preferably should be able to contact their snouts through the bars of the pen. When housed in groups they will fight if the groups are not compatible.

Swine have a dunging pattern and need to have their food and water separated to provide for the need to defecate near their water source and away from their food.
