ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS
The recommended temperature range for swine is 61-81 degrees F (16-27 degrees C) . Younger pigs and postsurgical patients require the higher temperature range. Relative humidity should be kept in a range of 30-70%.
Piglets may require an additional outside heat source such as a heat lamp during the first few weeks of life.
Automatically controlled lighting should be used to provide a regular light:dark cycle that is normally 12:12 or 14:10.
