BASIC HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS (cont)
Animals from different vendors should also be separated from each other to reduce the possibility of disease transmission.
After goats are released from quarantine they should be observed daily. They should have individual health records in which any health problems, postoperative care observations, medications and experimental procedures are recorded.
When survival surgery is performed on goats it must be done aseptically in a dedicated surgical suite. Anesthesia, analgesia and surgical monitoring records should be kept.
