HUMANE ANIMAL CARE (cont)
The institution must provide an appropriate environment for animals. This environment should be stable and well monitored. A quality control program should:
1- determine the presence of chemical contaminants in air, feed and water
2- assure adequate temperature regulation and ventilation
3 - and establish the adequacy of sanitation procedures
The disease control and environmental monitoring programs contribute significantly to the quality of research and animal health. Proper administration will minimize experimental variation and reduce the need for repeated studies.
