Intravenous injections in mice will be easier if you first warm the animals for 10 - 15 minutes in an open container with an overhead light or heat lamp. Take care not to overheat the animals. Next the animal is placed in a restrainer and the material is injected slowly into either the right or left lateral tail veins. Small gauge needles (sizes 25 - 27) are required for intravenous dosing of mice.
