Rabbit caging sizes found in the USDA regulations and those recommended in the Guide are the same except that the USDA specifies how much additional space is required for a nursing mother with a litter.  Minimum floor space requirements are listed in the table below. A minimum internal cage height of 16 inches (40.5 cm) is recommended by the Guide. Larger rabbits may require more cage height to allow animals to sit up.
